Coming HomeI received a copy of this manuscript in exchange for an honest reviewI enjoyed this debut novel from Christine Feldman a lot Callie is a savvy independent girl living life on the open road who is called back to her home town for ersonal reasons There she is reunited with the object of her teenage crush capable handsome Danny who runs the local river rafting business The Women's Romantic Theatre and Drama: History, Agency, and Performativity pair are wary of each other at first but are inevitably drawn together as they deal with a sharedast and family illness The uestion for them both as their attraction becomes undeniable is whether Callie is willing to hang up her hat and take a chance on true love I enjoyed the mounting tension and heat between Callie and Danny who are gritty and credible characters and was reminded by their magnetism of the Tell Me What You Want power of the teenage crushCongratulations to Christine for a great first effort and looking forward to reading all her future endeavoursRegards Caroline Carter Romance Novelist Amanda s reviewosted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews5 StarsThere is no better feeling when you read a good story which gets you out of your reading funk The story that did it for me was Coming Home by Christine Feldman I had been looking for something to spark my interest and what better way is with a new author and her debut story I love finding something new and discovering a gem of a story It s a story of first love and a wandering soul finding her Water in Social Imagination: From Technological Optimism to Contemporary Environmentalism placeCallie is going home to take care of her mother after a terrible fall Her relationship with her mother is a bit strained due to her father s abandonment and her brother s death She left home at 18 and has been living away never staying long in onelace She also left behind the boy she had a crush on and she had left on bad terms the last time she was homeThe Sagwitch: Shoshone Chieftain, Mormon Elder, 1822-1887 plot of the story was well thought out and let the characters develop nicely For a short story I wasleasantly surprised that the length gave me time to like and understand the characters and they decisions that they make Both Danny and Callie me time to like and understand the characters and they decisions that they make Both Danny and Callie t want to hurt the other so they both refrain from ursuing the other even though they both want to badly Callie gets her uestions answered that she s been searching for and is able to move forward with her life answered that she s been searching for and is able to move forward with her life searching for and is able to move forward with her life and layed out well without it getting sappy or fake The tension and emotions were felt between the characters in their actions and even their non actions The story flowed well and didn t feel rushed to concludeIt was a nice length and took an afternoon to read in one sitting One thing that hit close to me is the mother daughter dynamic That relationship alone can be complicated but I think the author touched on it the decisions made for the sake of her children and it s not until later that the adult child understands what was done for themComing Home opened my eyes a little to what goes on within a family and it s all done out of love This alone is a great Le rendez-vous part of the story and then you add the romance developing between the main characters you get an artfully written romance It doesn t have to be graphic in order for it to be loving and heartfelt The romantic development is slow and sweet and there is a nice epilogue to end the story on a beautiful note Check it out for yourself because it will be well worth it My Personal OpinionThis book was truly aleasant surprise usually when I read such a short book 128 Molotov Mouths: Explosive New Writing pages I never find myself caring too much for the characters simply because there isn t enough time to get to know them well but Coming home is a whole different storyThe story development took most of theages of this book which worked great in this case because it build anticipation and gave me time to love and understand the main characters This book brought many emotions to the surfaceI would often find myself complaining to Callie for No woman ever really forgets her first love Callie Sorenson is no exception Hers was tall tanned and as her older brother’s best friend completely off limits Danny McCutcheon It’s a name that Callie hasn’t spoken in years even if the man to whom it belongs has never really been all that far from her thoughts Or her heart But now a twist of fate will bring her back to the childhood home she left behind years ago and to the hometown boy for whom she secretly longe.
