listens to it Val also mentions as how Bethany is just a kid at twenty five Val is thirty two She s seven years older but apparently thinks that s much older than Bethany HmmmAnyway the mystery is done nicely and while the clues are there it was a little difficult to figure out who the murderer was and why but when I did I enjoyed watching Val put all the pieces together as she always does even though in this book she was never in danger it was still a lot of fun to see everyone s reactions as she went through the clues one by one ntil the killer was figured outWhen the ending comes and everything is said and done it was for the most part an easy read that can be done in one evening and worth the venture into Val s world Recommended This amusing delightful and relaxing read is a blend of romance and mystery BAYPORT Massachusetts is hosting aTri centennial festival Val Deniston has convinced her Grandfather to rent out rooms in his Victorian home for the festival The rooms are rented to a group in town to scoop out plans for a wedding Things go awry when one of the parties is strangled and found dead the backyard More problems are caused by all wearing Crab hats and Val is not sure who the target was It might be the bride to be or even herself There are several romances that are occurring in the story Val needs the answer for several vital The Christian at Mass uestions before her life is in turmoil I recommend this series in orderDisclosure I received a free copy from Kensington Books through NetGalley for an honest review I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book The opinions expressed are my own Is it the best book out there I don t think so but I m giving it a 5 because I really didn t see it coming Do I like the reveal No but I do like how this book played out For some reason it made me got invested even when the majority of the involved people were basically only there by chance and I think because of that it at least explains better why we don t know and possibly don t care for them as opposed to the two previous books in which it was jut hard to care for characters other than Val etc If that makes sense Could be just me While FINAL FONDUE is the third book in Maya Corrigan s Five Ingredient Mystery series it is the first one I ve had the chance to read I found it easy to immerse myself in this newest release without knowing backstory which makes this a nice stand alone read Val Deniston lives with her grandfather Don Myer aka The Codger Cook While he would like to be a great cook he mostly takes Val s recipes and whittles them down to five ingredients sometimes with great results and sometimesnot so much Val has convinced her granddad to rent out the spare bedrooms to some of the tourists coming to town for Bayport s Tricentennial Festival Jennifer Brown a bride to be rents four of the guestrooms for herself and three members of the bridal party They plan on enjoying the festivities and look at wedding venues at the same timeThe festivities take angly turn when Val finds one of the bridesmaids strangled to death in her granddad s back yard Even disconcerting is that the deceased resembles Val and she s not sure if she was the intended victim Her nemesis Chef Henri La Farge is in town and appears to be stalking her But the bride Also Has Her Share Of has her share of and could have been the intended target With the police not finding the answers and Granddad taking on line private investigating classes and wanting to practice Val determines to find the culprit before another body shows pI just adored The Codger Cook He went through a rough patch after losing his wife but with Val living with him he s found a new lease on life by writing a newspaper column branding The Codger Cook and expanding his snooping skills found a new lease on life by writing a newspaper column branding The Codger Cook and expanding his snooping skills an on line class His sometimes grumpy character brings humor and humanity to the story Val also has some baggage from her past that the author weaves effortlessly into a subplot intertwining with the central mystery It kept me turning pages and guessing ntil the final reveal reminding me a bit of an Agatha Christie grand finale which came as a complete surprise The ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石 (ハリー・ポッターシリーズ uaint town setting with it s Haunted Maze left you feeling like you d actually visited the area not just read about it while the supporting characters meshed together creating a memorable story After reading FINAL FONDUE I realize I have some catchp reading to do and look forward to the next book in this seriesOf course a series titled Five Ingredient Mystery series wouldn t be complete without recipes There are several included at the back of the book and all sound eually yummy I tried the recipe for Nutty Buttery Mini Muffins recipe which From Beautiful Zion to Red Bird Creek uses only FIVE ingredients and was incredibly impressed with how easy they mixedp AND how absolutely delicious they were Final Fondue is the third book in Maya Corrigan s Five Ingredient Mystery series It is the first one I have read but did not

Gunnar Swenson and everything seems to going her wayShe s also helping her grandfather create recipes as The Codger Cook writing for the local newspaper but if truth were told it s her recipes and he s borrowed them so everyone thinks he can cook and he ll get local recognition After Val has helped solve a couple of local murders her grandfather also wants to become a PI and is taking online courses to do so But now he s planning on a recipe of his own a chocolate fondue that he wants no help with and intends to enter in the local cook off for the town s tricentennial celebrationVal has also convinced him as a way to make money would be to take in temporary boarders during the festival Her grandfather nfortunately has also rented out Val s room and insists she stay with her cousin Moniue As if that weren t bad enough Val s mother calls and says she s coming for a visit and Val s ex Tony shows Disney Infinity: Character Encyclopedia upnexpected and nannounced causing problems between her and GunnarBut Val s determined to make it work With cooking breakfasts for the Four People In A people in #a party that are staying with them driving to her cousin s working at the festival and the #party that are staying with them driving to her cousin s working at the festival and the trying to avoid Tony and see her mother and Gunnar you d think that would be enough But it isn t on the first night at the Victorian one of the wedding party is murdered Now Val s drawn into another investigation and since the bride to be is obviously being threatened she needs to decide who s trying to kill the people in the wedding party and whyThis is the third book in the series and it s starting to grow on me While I enjoy the writing style and I do like Val since she has what I call grit in sticking to her obligations she allows people to walk all over her and that gets to me I still haven t been able to warm p to her grandfather Yes he has moments of care for her and it shows but I still think he s taking advantage of her in ways than one It s almost as if he expects her to do what he wants but I see him give nothing in return It s difficult to care for someone who s so selfish as a person One moment of kindness does not make Smitten up for hours of griefI also haven t been able to warmp to Gunnar He supposedly is her boyfriend but he never makes any time for her He makes excuses why he can t spend time with her what kind of relationship is that I d rather see her with someone who app. Val Deniston certainly has her plate full running a café dabbling with recipes and helping her grandfather prepare for the town's pcoming tri centennial celebration but she's grown fond of her new life in the Chesapeake Bay town of BayportSo when Val is asked to reclaim her old position as a cookbook publicist in New York City she. ,In Gunnar Swenson And Everything Seems To
Not really a very good cook nless he 1898 uses Val s recipes and minimizes the ingredients This is where the series gets its name The house they live in is old and needs somepdating and repairs so Val has convinces her grandfather to rent out the spare bedrooms to tourists coming to town for Bayport s Tricentennial Festival He ends Night of the Werewolf (Choose Your Own Nightmare, up renting not only the spare rooms but Val s room as well to Jennifer a bride to be and three members of the wedding party The plan is to enjoy the festival and check out wedding venues during the weekend Unfortunately for Val she was supposed to stay with her fiancee and his family but his mother had already invited guests including her son s ex girlfriend which is why she is staying at Val s grandfather s houseThe weeeknd takes angly turn when Val finds one of the bridesmaids strangled in her granddad s back yard This death is bad enough but once Val realizes how much she looks like the deceased especially in a crab hat she is worried that maybe she was the intended victim Her nemesis Chef Henri La Farge is in town and not only was he verbally abusive to her in front of many townspeople and festival goers but it appears that he might be stalking her But the bride who also resembles the deceased could also have been the intended victim After being chased through the haunted corn maze this theory seems to have some merit With the police not finding the answers and Granddad wanting to practice what he has been learning he and Val start investigating and hope to find the culprit before another body shows pI really enjoyed the interactions between Val and her grandfather He is sometimes a little grumpy and short on patience but he loves his granddaughter and it seems he will do everything he can to keep her safe He is funny and brings levity to the story Val s love interest Gunnar was not in the story very much but when he was he seemed rather cantankerous and I am not sure how I feel about him at this point I hope to see of this relationship in the other books and that Val makes the right choices where her love life is concerned Val also has some baggage from her past being fired from her job an ex fiancee and a car accident that the author weaves effortlessly into the story and the main mystery With the name of this series being the Five Ingredient Mystery series it would not be complete without some recipes There are several included and two of them are definitely going to be tried in my kitchen especially the beef stroganoff one This series is a must for cozy mystery readers and especially those who love reading about food in the stories I am looking forward to the rest in this series as well as the next oneI received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Maya Corrigan fans your wait is over This installment of the Five Ingredient Mysteries is the tasty treat you ve been waiting for
