The Sweetheart Sham Southern Charmed #1E an insight to his mind I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley This in no way impacted on my viewIf you ve read any of my reviews before you ll know that contemporary YA fiction is one of my favourite genres to read I simply adore them When this one became available to reuest on NetGalley I knew it would be one for me In The Sweetheart Sham Georgia knows her best friend Will is keeping a massive secret from the rest of the town the fact that he s gay As his best friend she wants to help him in any way she can even if it means masuerading as his girlfriends so he has a valid reason to spend time out with his actual boyfriend That was than fine ntil her old friend and crush Beau Montgomery arrives home He s Will s cousin and they were the three musketeers The Dark Villages of Childhood until hepped and left without a word Though she wants nothing than to see if they can rekindle their blossoming romance she wouldn t jeopardise Will s trust for anything Being English reading about the south of America has always interested me I ve always loved seeing how the sense of community and Southern Charm can manifest and this book definitely fit the bill for me Georgia and Will s families were descended from the founding families of the town and as such there was a certain amount of wishing surrounding a member of each family marrying and finally niting the families When they announced their relationship all members of the family were notably excited and elated except for Beau whose old crush on Georgia had never abated and he thought this might be the chance to apologise for leaving and finally see if his feelings were reciprocated The main characters of Georgia and Beau were wonderful to read Told in dual POV the emotions within the two and their backstories came through in dribs and drabs which allowed the reader to learn about them the town and everything in between without it being an information overload They really endeared themselves to the audience and I was armoured with their romance and couldn t help myself from smiling whenever they were together on page I m hoping that in subseuent books in this series we ll see of them because I love them so muchI haven t read anything from this author before but she s definitely one I ll read again One for fans of cutesy YA contemporary fiction I want to thank Entangled Crush and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy for an honest review I m also really excited to be on the Blog Tour for The Sweetheart Sham by Danielle Ellison I was drawn to this book as soon as I saw it contained a fake relationship and was set in a small southern town I was hoping it would give me the same kind of vibes as one of my favorite guilty pleasure shows Hart of Dixie I love cute little romances and small town settingsI thought The Sweetheart Sham was really cute Super cute It also was a very fast read that I just flew through I loved the setting of Culler South Carolina And it did end p giving me some very faint Hart of Dixie feels There were a couple of characters that gave me Lemon Breeland vibesThe story was told from the two viewpoints of Georgie and Beau I think I enjoyed reading Beau s chapters a little than I did Georgie s Beau had conflict and just going onThe fake relationship aspect was very background and minimal which could maybe disappoint some peopleI also feel like the author had a message that she very strongly pushed and depending on how you feel or view things it could be #a bit of a turnoff I won t say I went into the story really focused on that I was into #bit of a turnoff I won t say I went into the story really focused on that I was into sweet romance than wanting to be hit over the head with that messageI m not sure how much I really like Georgie s character Sometimes she could be pushy sometimes a pain sometimes a drama een I enjoyed Beau than herThere was a little over the top drama near the end which kind of felt a little eye roll inducing but then just reminded me I was dealing with teenagersAll in All I Thought This Story I thought this story sweet cute and fast I enjoyed it I definitely want to come back to Culler and hear stories It was a cute little romance I would recommend it to people wanting a sweet romance read Thank you again Entangled Crush for providing me with an early copy to review and Chapter by Chapter Blog Tours for letting me be on the Blog Tour The Sweetheart Sham was very cute and I enjoyed reading itBOOKCITEMENT LEVEL 375Very Cute Loved this book so much I even cried some happy tears a couple of times as a response to something someone said to Will and something Will saidGreat YA romance with all the feels you want to feel when it comes to characters who have an electric attraction that they re trying to deny because of circumstances and there s an amazing friendship between Georgia Ann and Will and some of Georgia Ann s girl friends too Beyond this the town of Culler will give you Gil Girl feels and the large cast of sometimes irky characters with Southern hospitality rounds out this story in the best way possible Georgia Ann is a southern belle and her best friend Will is the towns golden boy Their families would love a MonroeMontgomery wedding They are two of the towns founding families Unfortunately this pair has absolutely no interest in heading down the aisle togetherBeau has been in love with Georgia forever He broke her heart once and left town with his mother He is given the opportunity to return and spend the summer with his dad When he left town he didn t settle any of his past but that doesn t mean he can pick Banana Fish, Tome 14 : up where he left off His girl is dating his cousin his relationship with his dad is strained and the drama of a being in a small town catchesp with him Georgia is loyal to Will She loves him and only wants the best for him Will has a secret that he isn t ready to share Will is gay and has the option to find love He ropes Georgia into covering for him The sweetheart sham is in place but Georgia didn t expect Beau He wants forgiveness and old feelings are sitting raw This is a coming out story Will s story is told through Georgia This book works really well and the romance feels forbidden I think Beau needs

this story to
story to how strong his feelings are This book is about a small town and two families It s heartwarming and sweet It s a fabulous winter read when everyone is thinking about how much family means 45 stars out of 5 The perfect hot chocolate and marshmallows read I received an ARC in exchange for an honest reviewBLOG TOUR DATE 5th December 2017httpchaptersthroughlifeblogspotc As soon as I saw the cover and the summary for Danielle Ellison s The Sweetheart Sham I knew I had to have it I mean a small town setting a fake relationship AND a second Him gets her into a fake relationshipand then the boy of her dreams shows pEnter Beau Montgomery Georgie’s first love hotter than ever and much too much of a southern gentleman to ever pursue someone else’s girl There’s no way to come clean to Beau while still protecting Will But bless their I really wanted to like this but I couldn t The culture of the big name families being the most popular and admired in the small southern town really bothered me and the way the main character spoke about it was obnoxious I happen to live in a small southern town and the attitude of the haves is spot on but the view others have of them is not The only positive I can give is it is a ick readThis review is based Nuestra propuesta inconclusa. Ecuador-Perú upon a complimentary copy provided by the publisher I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads35 Stars Young adult age range 12 The Sweetheart Sham will sure to please young adults looking for a warm and fuzzy story without too much angst featuring second chance romance and a fake relationship tropes as well as adding an LGBT twist The southern setting was a nice change of pace with the dialect and accent gossipy townsfolk and the mentality of the locale giving a touch of down home humor Georgia Ann is a Southern Belle a daughter of a founding family from Culler South Carolina There are social rules she must abide by with gossip and pressure to do as those in the town wish from her She licking her emotional wounds in private suffering from the abrupt end of a relationship no one knew existed Instead of worrying about herself Georgia Ann focuses on her best friend Will by pressuring him to come out of the closet while simultaneously becoming his beard within a fake relationship to hide his budding real relationship with another in the closet boy Beau is Georgia Anne s one who got away having left the area abruptly due to the divorce of his parents Angsty brooding and wounded young adults and those young at heart will surely swoon over Beau After having been gone forite some time Beau returns home for the summer to attend his cousin s wedding Georgia Ann s mother is planning the wedding of the summer with Georgia Ann having to be her helper With her faux relationship with Will and the return of his cousin Beau the secret one who got away The Sweetheart Sham has all the juicy sweet and charming elements sure to please readers I m on the fence with the writing style The Volleyball Coaching Bible - Volume II (The Volleyball Coaching Bible, unsure it it s a good fit I m curious to read the next book in this series to see whether or not it was the writing style my mood or the subject matter I do recommend but suggest downloading the sample to determine if the writing style suits with your reading tastes I need to voice something that rubbed me slightly wrong with the LGBT theme Inderstood Will s reluctance to come out in a small southern town especially with the pressure of being a founding family s son While I appreciated Georgia Ann supporting Will in his decisions I felt her pressuring him to come out was in poor taste For the first few chapters she was so hyper focused turning most inner monologue and dialogue shared with Will into her warning himthreatening himmaking him promise to come outthinking about how she wished Will would just come out already While this plays into the overall premise of the story with such sensitive subject matter I felt Will s story should have been voiced only by Will not as if Georgia Ann had ownership in Will s journey While I m thrilled the LGBT community is popping Diccionario trilingüe Miskitu - Sumu-Mayangna - Español up in mainstream fiction Will s coming out story belongs solely to Will Just my two cents from a member of said community Please note My review is of annedited pre release copy of this book and assumes that any errors were corrected prior to publication I don t normally comment on the editing of a pre release copy while the editing issues present didn t affect my overall rating they did affect my reading enjoyment I must mention how it did yank me from the story sometimes several times per page mostly dealing with improper punctuation andor lack thereof and switchedmissing words These errors are most likely fixed in the final copy but I felt the need to point it out in case they aren t A special thank you goes out to Entangled Teen publishing for allowing me to read this early All thoughts and opinions are my own Initial thoughts I LOVED THIS BOOK Like omg I really loved this book I know that sounds like the least elouent thing I could say And I Know That As The Professional that as the professional that I am you all expect out of me cough cough But I can t help it I just want to shout to the world about how everyone should read this book Plot The entire thing was just adorable but it also had several important themes sueezed into there Like the importance of acceptance and forgiving your loved ones for the mistakes they made have made It takes a lot to forgive someone no matter how big or how little the incident was I liked that this book explored that option Forgiveness wasn t given right away nor was it expected to be given The teens in this book were treated like the adults they were becoming Acceptance was a major part of this book like I mentioned above There is a character Will that was afraid to come out to his family and friends It was good to see that in there because it s real It happens to teens and even adults all the time Will wasn t pressured to come out The Very First Christmas Stocking the Gifts of the 7 Coins until he was ready He wasn t forced out He did it on his own time with Georgie beside him It was also nice to see that this wasn t the whole plot of the book It was part of it but it was so much than whether or not Will was going to come out Characters Speaking of Will and Georgie can I just say I loved their friendship They both supported each other and also kept each grounded I loved that Georgie was both the typical Southern Belle but was also herself and didn t let being a Belle define her I think she could really be a character that a lot of girls can lookp too She really proved that you could love dresses but also go swimming in your nderwear and that didn t make you any less of a lady Beau was a great MC #as well I loved his dedication to his mom I feel you #well I loved his dedication to his mom I feel you t see that a lot in YA Like it s too cool for boys to love their mom and check on them when they are away It s completely okay to call your mom and tell her you love her in from of your boys I also saw a lot of character growth from him in a short amount of time I could really dig that Yes he acted like a teenager but he also acted like an adult when he needed to be Overall I wasn t sure what I was getting into with this book Books based on the South are hit and miss for me But like I keep saying I loved this book I felt like I was at home Danielle Ellison captured what it truly means to live in a small town where everybody knows you and your business I am anxious to see what the next book will be I m hoping for a Will book because I really liked him as a character and would love to hav. In a small town like Culler South Carolina you guard your secrets like you guard your cobbler recipe with your life Georgia Ann Monroe knows a thing or two about secrets she’s been guarding the truth that her best friend Will is gay for years now But what happens when a little white lie to protect.

Hance romance My YA contemporary loving heart was beating rapidly with excitement and hope The Result The Sweetheart Sham was not good not great but EXCELLENT Combining delicious southern charm heartwarming characters and a swoon worthy romance The Sweetheart Sham is yet another wonderful addition to YA contemporary perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen The Sweetheart Sham introduces s to Georgia Ann Monroe and Beau Montgomery Georgia Ann Monroe is the For the Love of Texas (The West Texans ultimate people pleaser which is how she endsp not only as her mother s trusted wedding assistant a k a 247 errand girl but also as fake girlfriend to her best friend Will From the first page I admired Georgia Ann s dedication to the ones she loved Her friendship with Will was sweet and heartwarming I thought it was amazing how far she would go to protect him from suffering a broken heart while also Pirate Barbarian urging him to be strong and true to himself I also loved her relationship with her family Yes her mother was overbearing but it was easy to see how much they loved each other Plus Georgia Ann s father always had me laughing I loved how he could escape the madness by going to his shed As the book progressed however it was easy to see there was a part of Georgia Ann missing the spark and feistiness thatsed to make herwell her With the reappearance of Beau back in town Georgia Ann starts to regain those traits She lets loose stands A Fearless Heart : Why Compassion is the Key to Greater Wellbeing up for what she thinks is right and even starts to fall in love in the process I loved the transition Beau on the other hand is confused yet hopeful When he left Culler all those years ago he left behind a mess in the form of a broken heart two to be exact Now back in Culler he wants to make it right Like Georgia Ann I found Beau incredibly easy to like He was this perfect mix between perfect and imperfect I adored his humor and his determination At times it broke my heart that he wouldn t mend the fences with his father or give his mother the answer she wanted however as the book progressed Beau starts to growp and learn a lot in the process The plot in The Sweetheart Sham mostly revolves around Beau and Georgia Ann s second chance at love the wedding of the summer and the friendship between Beau Georgia Ann and Will In all of these plot lines however one theme was present throughout being strong true to yourself and willing to stand Soap Making Bible up for what you believe in Tying in with that I liked the fact that Danielle included Will s conflict over coming out I felt that she did a great job of making it realistic and I especially loved that she gave him such a great ally in the form of Georgia Ann In all The Sweetheart Sham is just like a cup of sweet tea refreshing and sweet enough that it will have you craving for I can t wait to see whose story isp next Personally I m hoping for Will and his mystery man Grade A I d seen this pop Tewasnya Dewa Iblis Awan Api (Long Hu Men The Next Level 01) up on my Goodreads feed but thought based on the cover and title that it was adult romance The Sweetheart Sham really not a fan of the title is actually YA and would seem like everything I d enjoy in a book It has a Southern setting which Isually love and a fauxmance which I Red Now and Laters usually love and the backdrop of a wedding which Isually love But the story s pace felt pretty slow to me The fauxmance was mixed with a coming out story and I thought theses two stories deserved to be separated I really did love Will s story of finding love with a guy in a small Southern town In some ways I thought it was a moving and powerful story than the main plot which was Georgie s abrupt abandonment by her former crush Beau and his subseuent return to town The reader has to wait a long time for the reveal of why Beau left without really saying goodbye and it after that long wait it didn t have as much emotional resonance as I d hopedIn the end this wasn t a huge stand out for me It looks like others have enjoyed it so please be sure to check out other reviewsRead of my reviews on JenRylandcom or check out my BookstagramI received a free advance copy of this book from the publisher for possible review There s a certain movie I love and can watch again and again It starts with two Southern kids growing p together drifting apart then reuniting thanks to a wedding It s filled with sexy accents and charm and dancing It just so happens to have a very attractive man in it too Of course I m talking about Sweet Home Alabama starring the amazing Reese Witherspoon That film is one of my go to heartwarmersThe Sweetheart Sham might not be set in #Alabama But It Has All #but it has all same winning ingredients spunky girl charming guy a reunion plenty of chemistry and a wedding to plan Not either of theirs by the way It also has a fake relationship trope with a twist instead of two people entering into a fake relationship and realising they have feelings for each other it s done to protect a secret the town s golden boy isn t ready to reveal yet So there were two plots going on Georgie and Beau s second chance romance and Will s coming out storyI loved all three main characters in The Sweetheart Sham Georgia Ann was kind smart and fierce
proving you can
you can both a tomboy at times and a girly girl at others Will was definitely a charmer with lots of confidence on the outside but he was also super cute and giddy when it came to his secret relationship These two best friends showed again and again how much they cared for each other and had each other s backs Finally Beau Ugh Wonderful Beau No he wasn t perfect but he was definitely a conscientious guy who wanted to make the people he cared about happyThe three of them had different experiences of love and each had to learn about being true to themselves and what they wanted and that love is possible Will wanted to be accepted for who he loved Beau struggled to believe in love because of what happened with his parents You have no idea how relatable Beau s experiences were And Georgie She just wanted what her parents hadI don t want to be someone s opportunity I want to be everything like Momma is to Daddy She may annoy him to no end sometimes but I know when he looks at her that he loves her I want to be looked at the same wayIt s also worth noting that the families were adorable I loved Georgie s dad the most The rest were loving and always in your face so great from a distance though it would drive me p the wall if I was thereWhile it s cold and miserable in London The Sweetheart Sham kept me oh so warm I ve been Southern CharmedI received this book for free in exchange for an honest review This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review See this review in its natural environment Dani Reviews ThingsYou can find me on Twitter and Instagram.
